Tithi Das Stars as Adamas Howrah Warriors Register Dominant Win; Novus Royals Purulia and Sobisco Smashers Malda Share Points 

Kolkata, June 7: Day 2 of the Women’s Bengal T20 League saw Adamas Howrah Warriors register a dominant win over Rashmi NES Medinipur Wizards, while rain forced Novus Royals Purulia and Sobisco Smashers Malda to share points in the day’s second fixture.

In the first match of the day, Adamas Howrah Warriors produced a clinical all-round display to defeat Rashmi NES Medinipur Wizards by 81 runs at the JU Salt Lake Stadium. Batting first, the Warriors posted the highest total of the tournament so far, finishing on 152/4 in their 20 overs.

Captain Ankita Chakraborty gave the innings a solid start with 33 off 26 balls before Tithi Das took charge. The opener anchored the innings beautifully, while Priyanka Prasad added momentum with a quick 25 off 15 deliveries. Tithi then combined with Srilekha Roy in the closing overs and brought up a well-made half-century as the Warriors finished strongly.

The Wizards never recovered from an early collapse in the chase as wickets fell regularly during the powerplay. Disha Chandak led the bowling effort with figures of 2/10, while Srilekha Roy and Sreyoshi Aich also played key roles in keeping the scoring under control. Monika Mal remained unbeaten on 20 and Napisa Yasmin added 14 not out, but Rashmi NES Medinipur Wizards could only manage 71/7 in their 20 overs. Player of the Match Tithi Das starred with 52 off 48 balls as the Warriors sealed a comprehensive victory.

The second fixture between Novus Royals Purulia and Sobisco Smashers Malda was heavily affected by rain. Reduced to an 18-over contest, Malda recovered from the loss of two early wickets to post 126/5.

Anwasha Saha steadied the innings with 34 off 40 balls before Shreya Roy top-scored with 49 off 33 deliveries. Mamta Kisku chipped in with 21 to help Malda reach a competitive total.

For Purulia, Chandrima Biswas returned figures of 1/27, while Payel Vakharia and Radhika Kumari picked up a wicket each. However, before Purulia could begin their chase, heavy rain returned and the match was eventually abandoned, with both teams taking a point each.
